Wet/Dry Riser Mortar has been formulated specially to achieve the optimum performance for the fire rated protection of the dry and wet riser pipes for up to 4 hours. Wet/Dry Riser Mortar is a tough, hard and highly stable type of passive fire protection coating applied onto riser pipes either by spraying or trowel on. This asbestos-free mixture consists of exfoliated vermiculite, cementitious binders, fillers and additives, allowing the smooth and accurate application and achieving excellent performance criteria in the event of the outbreak of fire.

Application procedures

The surfaces that require coating of wet/dry riser mortar should be dry and free of oil, grease, dirt, dust and other materials that are likely to impair adhesion.

A layer of 25/45mm thick wet/dry riser Mortar will be sprayed on 50mm thick, 120kg/m³ density mineral wool that is wrapped around the surface of the pipe, butting tightly all end joints for 2/4 hour fire rating.

It is built up in layers of 10-30mm per coat. The initial set of mortar is typically 4-8 hours and it is preferred to apply successive coats immediately after the initial set is obtained. The procedure repeats up to the required thickness evenly of 45mm is achieved. The full curing time of wet/dry riser Mortar is 28 days.

Description:

Vermix consists of Portland cement and vermiculite. It enhances versatility in design, high performance as well as reasonable cost for architects, engineers and contractors. It not only possesses all the qualities of a good insulating material, but also has other characteristics which give the material ability to diversify; as a furnace insulation, tropical housing and refrigeration, external weather proofing and internal plastering.

It is available in 2 grades:

• LC 500 (for Roof insulation)
• LC 800 (for Raised floor top up)

Vermix consist of masses of minute air cells to which they owe their lightness, and excellent insulating value at temperature ranging from below 0ºC to 1000 ºC. In addition, it is non-combustible and chemically inert. There qualities equipped Vermix for the wide range of application. It is produced in a factory-controlled condition ensuring consistency and a guaranteed mix design that would eventually produce the specified density and K Value.

Compared to structural grade concrete, Vermix concrete is only 15% of its weight. 25mm of Vermix concrete is equal in insulating value to 500mm of regular concrete. It is widely used on all kinds of flats and low-pitched roofs. They can be readily laid to suit each individual job. It Corporate E Banking is recommended that the minimum thickness of the screed should be 50mm.

Description:

Vermiculite spray is a tough, hard and highly stable passive fire protection coating applied to structural steel by spraying and trowelling. It consists of factory produced blend of exfoliated vermiculite, cementitious binders and rheological and mix dispersing agents supplied as a dry mix to which clean water is added on site.

Available in 2 grades:

• Internal Grade – robust, economic coating for internal use
• External Grade –tough coating for external use, resistant to variety of climatic conditions

Application:

Both grades are designed for installation by spray techniques. It can be applied to bare steel surfaces in the thickness of up to 30mm at a time. The surface of the steel should be dry and free of dirt, oil, loose mill scale, flaking paint and loose rust.

Fire Performance:

As applied, both grades of SLV are rated “Non-combustible” to BS476 Part 4:1970 and comply with Credit Union Phone Number the performance requirements of “Class O” as defined in Building Regulations. Both grades have been fully tested on structural steel beams and columns for up to 4 hours fire resistance in accordance with BS 476 Part 21:1987

The Thickness of the Fire Protection material required for a given period of fire resistance is dependent upon the surface area of the steel member exposed to fire and its equivalent cross sectional area, that is, the Hp/A value for the section. Description:

Flamebar BW11 fire duct is constructed from Galvanised sheet steel manufactured to the HVCA or SMACNA standard, then degreased and factory sprayed with Flamebar BW11 which is a specially formulated water based compound. This contains selected Mineral filters in a low permeability electrometric binder to a thickness of approximately 1mm to give a finished product which has been successfully tested for international use under Cellulosic Fire Conditions in excess of 4 hours duration. Ductwork is produced in sections and is assembled on site utilizing tested fireproof gaskets/sealants.

The unique properties of Flamebar BW11 has enabled us to design a low density yet highly durable material which accommodates induced stress arising from extreme and varying conditions e.g. Climatic Moisture and Structural Loading Variations and the effect of thermal shock during a fire.

Description

FS Board is a non-combustible vermiculite composition board comprises of 90% of heat expanded vermiculite particles; The exfoliated vermiculite is in an incompletely expanded condition of a degree predetermined to permit its further expansion upon subsequent exposure to heat. This results in a corresponding expansion of the composition board of which it is a component when the board is exposed to fire, preventing the formation of cracks and insuring continued fire protecting coverage of the area across which the board is applied. Thus, allowing excellent thermal insulation properties with dimensional stability in the event of fire conditions.

FS Board is extensively used for the fire protection for dry & wet riser pipes for up to 2 hour fire rated protection.
